PRIVACY

Effective 27 September 2026

The Inkline is designed to be played without an account. We collect only the limited information needed to run the game, understand how it plays and provide its shared challenges and leaderboards.

Who runs the game?

The Inkline is operated by Tom Bennett in the United Kingdom. Privacy questions and requests can be sent to theinklinegame@gmail.com.

What the game collects

We do not require your real name, email address, password, contacts or location. We do not record the detailed line you draw or a stream of your pointer movements.

Why it is used

We use this information to operate global statistics, leaderboards and the Daily Challenge; remember personal bests and purchases; prevent obvious abuse; diagnose problems; and understand whether levels are fair and enjoyable.

Public information

If you choose a leaderboard display name, that name and the associated score or result may be visible to other players. Use a nickname rather than personal information. Names are length-limited, normalised and moderated.

Community levels

If you publish a level with Inkline Maker, the level (its shapes, title and theme), your creator name and its play statistics (players, attempts, completions and likes) are public and can be played by anyone on iOS and the web. To publish, like or report, the game creates an anonymous creator identity: a random ID and a secret key kept on your device, whose fingerprint we store. We also store which levels that identity has liked or reported, and a summary of each visit to a community level (number of attempts and whether it was completed) linked to your anonymous player ID. Unfinished drafts stay on your device and are never uploaded. You can unpublish or delete your levels at any time from My Levels; reported levels are reviewed and may be hidden or removed. Publishing is subject to the community rules.

Advertising and purchases

The native iOS and Android editions may show occasional Google Mobile Ads interstitials at safe result screens after a disclosed number of attempts (splats or wins). Ads never interrupt active gameplay, and the player may choose to show a due ad early to reset the counter. The game is configured for non-personalised advertising and does not request Apple's App Tracking Transparency permission. Where required (for example in the UK, EEA and Switzerland), a consent choice is presented on a result screen before ads can load, and you can change it at any time from Privacy Choices in Settings. Google may use your IP address to estimate an approximate location, and device identifiers, to deliver ads, limit how often they appear and prevent fraud; see how Google uses information from apps that use its services. A non-consumable “Inkline+” purchase (previously “Remove Ads Forever”), which removes ads and unlocks publishing in Inkline Maker, is processed by Apple or Google through their store systems.

Services and sharing

Firebase/Google Cloud provides hosting, protected game analytics, aggregate statistics and leaderboard services. Google Mobile Ads provides native advertising. Apple and Google process store purchases. These providers may process technical information under their own privacy terms. We do not sell personal information.

Storage and security

Campaign progress, preferences and personal bests are also stored on your device. Server data is protected by access rules and server-mediated writes. Public players cannot browse the private analytics dataset. Network traffic uses encrypted HTTPS connections.

Retention and deletion

Data is retained only while reasonably needed to operate, secure and improve the game. You can clear local game data using your device or browser controls. To request deletion of server-side data, email theinklinegame@gmail.com and include the anonymous player ID shown by the game where available.

Your choices

You can play the main game without choosing a leaderboard name. If remote services or the network are unavailable, the campaign, Endless and Zen modes remain playable. You may also contact us to ask about, correct or delete information associated with your anonymous player ID.

Changes

This notice may be updated when the game or its services change. The effective date above will be updated when material changes are made.
